So you have decided to watch Telugu channels and like most other Telugu viewers in USA, caught between selecting Yupptv and ReliableIPTV . Here is a detailed review of both these services along with Dish World and Maaya TV. Maaya TV is merging their services with Sling (Dishworld).
CHANNEL LIST
The number of channels you get depends on the package you choose. Yupptv has more number of channels and less expensive compared to Reliable IPTV. But ReliableIPTV with Phone plan is cost effective only when compared to YuppTV + Vonage phone services together. YuppTv and Maaya TV provides few Hindi, Tamil and other language channels for free. Reliable IPTV is notorious for their impolite customer service (as you can read from users comments below).

YuppTV, Maaya Tv and Dish TV provides recordings in 30 minutes blocks, while Reliable IPTV recording are one hour blocks.
MOVIES: Reliable IPTV offers 12 movies ( 3 per week ) and offers subscription to movie collection at Mango Mobile TV for $7.99 per month / $24.99 for 6 months. YuppTv offers free Movies along with some plans and Yupp Flix / Eros Now Subscription. YuppTV has recorded archives of movies telecasted in ETV, Gemini, Zee Telugu and Maa channels.
ARCHIVES:Both Yupp TV and Reliable IPTV offers archives of popular serials and programs. Reliable offers archives of ETV and Maa TV. YuppTV offers archives of E TV, Maa TV, Zee TV and Gemini TV Serials and movies. Yupp TV has much larger and better content in archives.
In addition to above Reliable IPTV also has a library of film based / Devotional Programs and Audio Songs.
VOIP Service: Reliable IPTV is providing VOIP Services with International Calling plans similar to Vonage / Unovon / Allvoi. For VOIP service, subscribers need android device marketed as RBOX, from Reliable IPTV. The call quality is comparable to Vonage / Unovon / Allvoi. Caller id feature doesnot display Name of the caller, like it is displayed in Vonage. It only displays the number.
AVAILABILITY: All these companies offers streaming services through their websites. SlingTV, YuppTV and Reliable IPTV apps are available in most Samsung TVs, iOS and android devices. Yupp TV app is also available in most smart TVs and game consoles, but Maaya Tv and Reliable IPTV apps are available only on Samsung Smart TV. Sling TV is available on Roku, iOS and android devices. YuppTV Subscribers can use multiple devices (not TVs) without paying additional fee per device, while Reliable IPTV charges extra fee for access through any devices other than RBOX.
Both YuppTv and Reliable IPTV provides an Android settop box (Yupp media player / R Box ) which allows to browse internet, install apps from google play and watch movies form usb device or harddisk. YuppTV app can also be installed and accessed from Reliable IPTV's RBOX. YuppTV is also available through Chromecast and android based Yupp TV Media Player. Reliable IPTV and Yupp TV needs separate subscriptions for access through each smart device, but Yupp TV offers single subscription for access through mobile devices.
PRICING: YuppTV charges $35/month for all the telugu channels ( other packages with less channels for lesser price are available), while Reliable IPTV charges $35/month(excluding Gemini TV) and $40/month(Including Gemini TV) for TV and VOIP Phone service combined ( Other Packages are also available). YuppTv offers attractive discounts on yearly packages. Sling (DISH )offers Channels for $39.99. Maaya TV offers channels in different packages.

QUALITY: All these services need very good internet speed for uninterrupted streaming. These streams require around 2MBps of data speed. Roku, RBOX, Smart TVs and other internet devices (other than chromecast ) provide better streaming when connected to Ethernet cable than WiFi. ReliableIPTV provides 1080p video through their Rbox ( upscales the 480i original stream upto 1080p ). Yupptv video depends on the streaming device. Yupp TV is best when viewed through chromecast, Roku ( not available with Roku players in USA ) or Smart TVs. Reliable IPTV is not available on chromecast. Yupptv also upscales the channels video output upto 1080p. Dish offers 720p upscaled video. None of these services stream Gemini TV in HD. Though Gemini has exclusive HD channel in India, these services offer upscaled SD in USA, instead of HD streaming. Yupp TV offers HD stream of Zee Telugu USA. ETV networks new channels (ETV Plus HD, ETV Abhiruchi HD, ETV Life, ETV Cinema) are not yet available in any of these services.

DeletePeople those are choosing YuppTV, please don't buy NeoTV NTV-300 devices. They are really bad. Remote responds after few seconds of click. The best device is Sony Streaming player SMP-N200. It is not displayed on YuppTV's website about this device, but it is best. I returned NeoTV and brought YuppTV and it works great.

ReplyDeleteThe YuppTV guys seem to be bunch of crooks. They take the order and process it even if they can't support the device you selected. And when I called the customer support they say I didn't select any device but they have no answer for why they charged the device activation fee if I didn't select the device. They say once the order is processed they can't refund no matter whether you have a supported device.

ReplyDeleteWe have been using reliable iptv for two years, no problem at all. Given that you get PHONE and TV, compared to only TV (with YUPP), we never thought of YUPP TV.
ReplyDeleteI have been Reliable IPTV costomer for 3 yrs. It is good as long as you don't need to talk to their customer support. Customer service sucks. They lock you in with the phone and will try to squeeze after your 1 yr contract is done. Do not get into their phone service. TV is ok.

ReplyDeleteI use a samsung smart tv(comes with yupp tv app). I used reliable iptv for 3 years and never had quality issues. Regretting now for shifting from reliable iptv to yupp. Had to bear for another 7 months.
Heard dish is good but expensive.
Yupptv is horrible as far as watching vod is concerned.I called technical team a thousand times.all they do is change d server. They do not try to increase server strength with increasing customer base. Its very annoying to have streaming issues while watching vods. No problem with live TV though.

ReplyDelete1. You need to pay extra bugs monthly to watch the same channels online. We came to know this only after we subscribe.
2. No app to support mobile devices. So, you have to watch only in TV.
3. RBOX that they supply is a piece of junk. Very slow in response and it can be frustrating at times. Even restarting it will not solve the issues.
4. They perform maintenance tasks during night times. So, for almost 30 mins, there will be no service and nothing works. I think their understanding is that people do not use phone at night.
5. Most of the time, you will not know who is calling as caller ID will show "Unknown".
6. Frequently, their server goes down due to some issue and your phone will not work. You cannot even call home from other mobile. The highlight part is, you cannot even call customer service to report the issue because the server operating their phone is down. hahaha.
7. Picture clarity is not good.
8. Monthly free movies - 15 are pretty much same every month. 1 or 2 movies change for every month.
9. If RBOX goes out of sync with your WiFi due to settings mismatch, phone will have voice breakage.
We used to have Yupp TV before and really, the TV clarity is way better than Reliable IPTV. Yupp TV has free app with which, you can watch TV anywhere. No additional fee.
We are planning to switch back to Yupp TV now. Just waiting for our subscription term to complete.
Never go to Reliableiptv... lot of issues they could not resolve with their services. I purchased their service and paid upfront and the channels were not coming at all. what you see is a black screen when you open any channel. More importantly they never refund your money at any cost.

ReplyDeleteSome times I also see issues with yupptv, but its ok they respond very quickly. Best way to reach them is chat, all local guys, chat with them in telugu no problem. But reliable they always have problems super fun part is when their server is down, their support is also down hahahaha.

ReplyDeletethere service is first class with my amazing features like customer can watch it on multiple devices at the same time, you can cancel the package temp (if you are on a holiday) and renew it again, catch up for 10 days.
i have also come across few issues with it sometimes, but trust me all my issues have been perfectly resolved by there 24/7 customer support.

I have been using YuppTV Nexus Player(Android TV)since I shifted to UK and it is reliable till date. I would recommend the same to any Indian coming to UK. YuppTV has really been serving good.
ReplyDeleteI would like to add few things about Reliable IPTv after using past 4 years- RBOX Poorly designed issue box forever. They sent me an year back this box after eliminating the ROKU. These days I am seeing innumerable number of issues with this poorly designed Rbox even their services. My Wi Fi functionality got broken from the RBOX after an year use just box sits at corner and not even touched except Remote and its wifi adopter perhaps cheap or unable to work after an year- and WiFi always stay as OFF though I click and try to assign my home Wi Fi. When tried to ask this replace RelaibleIP asking money to buy the box - Unfair amount of money to render for this box like this.
ReplyDeleteNow the other major issue since THREE months - the telecast suddenly freezes and then I have to go home screen and initiate again to get played, but no guarantee with the smooth telecast. Then one has to call ReliableIPTV customer support and they mimic few words saying sir we changed your server settings can you go back once to Main home page and play now, they also say they can be on the phone a while to see if any issues come. Well eventually when you start over there wouldn't be any issue till an hour or plus again same freezing occur. No idea techs try to change the Wi Fi settings of your home by logging TeamViewer a free tool which supposed to you download only personal use *but these folks asks you to download for their use* beware this is a business use.
Personally, this ReliableIPTv service support to the customer satisfaction level is drastically going down both in quality and also customer service providing to us and I am unsure why this discrepancy occurring either due to the more and more services adding but no proper strengthen streamlining capacity or still the servers remained same but services added more. Bottom line is highly downgraded if not taken measures properly.

Perhaps the main thing is ReliableIPTv got more subscriptions these days and it might have peaked out to the overcapacity for the way they planned and perhaps not expected this much load. Yes everywhere we are encountering the issues of Freeze and exactly it was explained as above. We are simply waiting for the time to end of contract period. They even asked me to buy another Rbox with discounted price when their box got issues with altering the network functionality. Well the services and support are not in good promising way, it is really weird when they asking the price for replacing RBOX when certain functionality broken (yes poorly design equipment and sure it costs us to buy whenever broken). Indeed it was pretty good service providing earlier and may be not many folks subscribed this service and perhaps we spread a word lot about this Channel and made this service heavily subscribed but now time to wait for end of contract and no more to look at this kind of low level promising services

I don't think it should matter from which state there CEO belongs , end of the day we want to get connected to our Indian entertainment channels which yupptv is providing for people like us who live miles away from there family. So cheer up and concentrate on channels provide rather than checking they company details.

ReplyDeleteevery now and then it happens with this team. I dont think management do look into how these non Telugu staff speaks to
Telugu customers. They had lot of ego, Attitude issues when deal with customers. surprisingly they dont care to lose the business
from telugu customers. I have been with Yuppyv since last 6 years and today due to customer service attitude I cancel my account .
why Telugu's and all other Desi's sign up for yupptv and why not look for other providers.there are plenty available in market.

ReplyDeleteI'm a Customer of Reliable IPTV since 2011, I had few incidents in those years with the Service apart from that I don't have any major concerns. I was using their App in Samsung App Store, however I switched to their app in Roku (New App) which got Improved Performance and better Navigation.
ReplyDeleteI chose Reliable IP TV because of the Quality of the Channels, YUPP TV was very bad in Quality in the past where as they have been improved well.
Price.. If you sign up Yearly package both come at the same price, but I would recommend to go with YUPP because they are adding new Movies for free :)
YuppTv has taken over reliable TV, initially wasn't happy with this but now am enjoying their service.
DeleteHi, I have subscribe to YuppTV from last 2 years and i can clearly see their service is trustworthy. Like every time i find some new channels added to the packages, some new movies premiered. And all the movies are recently released which is nice. The best is the package rates, they always have offers during the festivals and occasions.
